Rising Up Together: Child Health in the Face of Climate Change
October 26 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
While people may disagree about the causes, it is undeniable that shifts in temperature and weather, i.e., climate change, is impacting lives and livelihoods worldwide. Wildfires, droughts, air pollution, extreme flooding, and higher-than-normal temperatures are being experienced all over the globe. Children are a vulnerable population because of their unique physiology and dependence on adults for their well-being. This year’s 16th Annual CHOP Pediatric Global Health Conference, “Rising Up Together: Child Health in the Face of Climate Change,” will explore short- and long-term interventions to help mitigate the impact of climate change on child health.
Co-Chairperson of Climate Justice and Jobs Team, Pamela Darville, will be discussing POWER’s approach to advocacy through its campaigns and community organizing for the reduction and elimination of carbon emissions that cause harm to children’s health and wellbeing.
The event takes place at CHOP’s HUB for Clinical Collaboration, Room # 1632.
