Please join us in congratulating Bishop Dwayne Royster on being selected as the Executive Director of Faith in Action!
POWER’s Board of Directors gave its blessing for Bishop Royster to lend his leadership with Faith in Action as Interim Executive Director beginning in January during a critical time of transition.
This is a well-deserved recognition of his leadership skills and unwavering commitment to social justice, and we are excited to continue the work with the national organization that POWER’s been a part of since the beginning.
To ensure a smooth transition, Rev. Gregory Edwards will assume the role of Interim Executive Director. Rev. Edwards has been a pillar within POWER Interfaith for over a decade. His journey includes being an organizer with POWER Lehigh Valley, Regional Director, Chief of Staff, and most recently, Acting Executive Director during Bishop Royster’s interim leadership at Faith in Action.
POWER Interfaith’s mission remains steadfast – to build a more just and equitable Pennsylvania. We have a strong foundation built on our shared faith traditions and values, and our dedicated team is passionate about continuing this work.
Our Board of Directors is actively developing a transition plan to ensure continued progress on our important work. This plan will prioritize maintaining strong connections with our congregations and amplifying the voices of those most impacted by injustice. We anticipate sharing details of this plan in the coming weeks.
We are incredibly grateful for Bishop Royster’s leadership and contributions to POWER Interfaith, and are confident that under his vision, Faith in Action will continue to be a powerful force for good. We look forward to continued collaboration with him and the Faith In Action team on issues of shared concern.
Sincerely,
Imam Abdul-Halim Hassan Rev. Michael Caine
