PHILADELPHIA FEDERATION OF TEACHERS, PARTNERS TO JOIN PRO-PUBLIC EDUCATION PRESS CONFERENCE
PHILADELPHIA, PA — On Friday, April 26 at noon, Philadelphia Federation of Teachers (PFT) will join a coalition of elected, labor, and community partners for a pro-public education press conference. The event is co-hosted by Representatives Roni Green and Elizabeth Fiedler. In addition to the PFT, partners participating include the Philadelphia Council AFL-CIO, AFT Pennsylvania, 32BJ SEIU, UNITE HERE Local 634, POWER Interfaith, Make the Road PA, NAACP Pennsylvania, and League of Women Voters.
The press conference will call attention to the urgency of investing in public education in the state budget and rejecting voucher schemes that siphon money from public schools.
