Seeking candidate rooted in Philadelphia for work in Philadelphia
Supervisor: Julie Greenberg, Director of Climate Justice and Jobs
Currently, some of the work is online and some in-person.
This Fellowship is designed to be a learning opportunity offering support and training. You need to be “digitally nimble,” but you don’t need a particular degree or credential. We are looking for applicants who are passionate about building a world of racial, economic and climate justice and can use social media tools to welcome more people into the movement. This is an organizing position, so we are not just interested in messaging, but also in engaging interested people in relationship-building and follow-up. We are especially looking for applicants involved in their own faith communities whose turn it is to grow into leadership roles in the environmental movement: Black, Brown, Spanish-speaking, working class, immigrant.
Some of the opportunities available to the Fellow will be to:
● Participate in both Communications and Climate Justice and Jobs staff meetings, training opportunities and community building within POWER. We are a learning and support community.
● Connect POWER’s Climate Justice organizing goals for each of our Climate campaigns to digital organizing opportunities; Coordinate between the Communications and CJJ areas of POWER to strengthen the CJJ digital organizing muscle, working closely with our Digital Media Specialist.
● Add Communications strategy and insights to POWER’S climate campaigns, which focus on a specific way to address racism, economic inequality and climate crisis in an interconnected way.
● Other experiences that match your interests and gifts.
Please write a one-page letter of introduction or create a two-minute video to introduce yourself, titled “Comms/CJJ Fellowship Application.”
Please let us know your areas of strength and interest in creating content and strategy for social media engagement.
Please share your resume or CV.
Please send to JGreenberg@powerinterfaith.org and to SSingleton@powerinterfaith.org
Applications are being accepted and interviews with select candidates scheduled until the position is filled.
The Fellowship will start as soon as the position is filled.
