DESCRIPTION:This event is important to POWER’s Climate Justice and Jobs’ PGW Just Transition Campaign and the People’s Energy Plan. It is designed to make the audience aware of the devastating impact of climate change to historically marginalized Black communities. The event will educate the audience on how climate\, housing and racial injustices are interconnected and serve to displace Black communities from their homes. It will also educate the audience on the importance of income based home repair programs to help those members of the Black communities to retain their homes by repairing these homes and making them climate resilient.
