Monday, May 16: LIVE FREE Town Hall
Time: 7pm
Description: A Budget is a Moral Document: Does this Budget Make Us Safe?” We will explore the intersectionality of our POWER campaigns and how the 2023 Phila budget is a direct reflection of how we are or aren’t investing in long and short-term public safety measures.

Tuesday, May 17: Election Day! 7 AM to 8 PM
Wednesday, May 18: Rise + Vote Training
Time: 9am-6pm, the training also continues on Thursday morning from 9am-12pm before the press conference.
Description: This is an all day training event for clergy, lay leaders, and organizers. The event begins on Tuesday evening with dinner and a welcome for out of town guests. The training will have two tracks, one for clergy and one for lay leaders and organizers. Faith Leaders leave with a clear understanding of their role in building powerful voter engagement and organizing programs, the strategies and tools they can use to achieve high voter participation in their congregations and communities, and how the work can help meet their self-interest. The training event begins Tuesday night at dinner at 5:30pm and continues through Thursday morning until 12pm. All meals are included for those staying overnight.

Thursday, May 19: Rise + Vote Launch, Press Event
Time: 3pm-4pm
Description: Faith in Action will launch its 2022 Rise + Vote Campaign in Philadelphia, PA, the birthplace of Freedom. Through our faith we will organize across the nation to ensure equitable access to the ballot box, especially for Black and Brown people who are being targeted by oppressive legislation in dozens of states. This year’s Rise + Vote campaign will highlight our network’s voter engagement efforts and the impact that elections have on voting rights, immigration policy and racial justice more broadly. POWER spokespeople will highlight how our voter engagement efforts and the impact that elections have on mass incarceration, police violence, gun violence, education equity, and climate justice in PA.

Friday, May 20: POWER People’s Energy Summit
Time: Dinner
Description: Join the kick off of the POWER People’s Energy Summer at dinners and events across the city on Friday evening. The event runs from Friday May 20 through Sunday May 22nd. Too many of our people are struggling under the weight of our energy system, which keeps us struggling to afford our utility bills and keeps us sick from toxic fuels. Folks from across the state are coming together for an enriching weekend to strengthen POWER relationships, deepen our own community organizing skills. and build collective power to win an energy future that centers our communities and climate, economic, and racial justice. Event is intended for anybody in POWER’s network of congregations! Faith leaders or lay people with any level of knowledge or experience (or none at all) in the climate justice campaign.
